Fall Getaway to San Diego/Coronado

J & I decided we wanted/needed a fun family get away to pseudo celebrate our 11 year anniversary and to have some family time- we chose San Diego for many reasons and are so glad we did.

Our trip started with an early Friday morning flight to the West Coast. We were all smiles on the way!

We arrived at the hotel around noon and were able to check in right away - what a gorgeous view and perfect way to start our trip! We went to the beach and C splashed around while S collected shells.

Another highlight of the first day was renting the Surrey bike and driving around the island. We rode down to the end of the public part of Coronado and let the girls play at a playground for a bit before heading back to the hotel.

We were treated to a gorgeous sunset from our balcony before bed time.

Saturday was LEGOLAND day - the girls were so excited to get to go there and it absolutely exceeded expectations. It was less than an hour drive there and we didnt wait longer than 5 minutes for any ride.

C needed a nap and fell asleep on our late afternoon drive home so we took the scenic PCH for part of the drive - it was gorgeous.

We promptly went to the pool upon returning to the hotel where C rested some more while S swam and swam.

Sunday was an early (fall back) morning so I took the girls for a walk on the beach while J got his workout in early. S wanted to swim some more and C wanted to play in the waves so we split up and both girls were all smiles.

Our outing for Sunday was to head into the city for brunch and then the New Children's Museum - there were a lot of cool things at this museum including a really neat play structure and a circuit activity that J did with S.

The girls were getting tired so we went back to the room for some rest and then played for awhile before heading to dinner.

Monday morning came too quickly - luckily our flight wasnt until later in the day so we were able to go swimming and stop at the hotel candy shop one last time before going home.

The girls are now up to 14 states each (Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee, West Virginia, New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Utah, Colorado, California, Alaska, and Hawaii).

I think C is at 7 countries (US, Canada, Denmark, Estonia, Russia, Finland & Sweden) and S is at + 20 (US, Canada, UK, France, Italy, Switzerland, Spain, Portugal, UAE, Croatia, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, Denmark, Austria, Lichtenstein, Vatican City, Estonia, Russia, Finland, Sweden...might be forgetting one or two....)
