I like to plan an end of summer weekend away before back to school craziness. This year, we opted for a short drive to Lexington, Kentucky. S has been loving horses and i saw an article about the Kentucky horse park and planned try trip from there.
We arrived Friday evening to the 21c hotel in downtown. We booked the kid special and were greeted with candies and fresh baked chocolate chip cookies immediately after checking in. The girls loved hugging on our penguin friend.
Saturday morning we enjoyed breakfast at the hotel and headed to the horse park. It was a gorgeous shortish drive. We bought our tickets and booked our pony ride time before heading to the kids barn for our first area of interest. We then rode the trolley tour and saw more of what to explore.
The big barn was definitely a highlight with many gorgeous horses and great workers that made the girls comfortable interacting with each horse.
The pony rides were fun for the girls and the playground was amazing too.
The museum was amazing - so much info and history. The girls even enjoyed this.
We had a late lunch and then relaxed before stopping at the kids museum for a short visit before dinner at a brewery and some ice cream. The girls were exhausted so we called it a night.
Sunday morning was another yummy breakfast at the hotel before packing up and heading home.
I am having an issue getting photos to load - will update our blog once I get that sorted.
Follow our family of four through our many travels and other adventures. We love to travel to new countries and also love Disney.
