Christmas Getaway to Park City

For our winter vacation, we chose to return to Park City, Utah again for a week of skiing and family fun. We stayed at the same hotel as last year but this time we opted for a full 1-bedroom villa with a complete kitchen and really enjoyed the extra space!

S and C both had parties at school on December 21st and then we headed straight to the airport to start our winter getaway. The flight was in the evening so we had dinner at the airport in Cinci and booked a hotel near the airport in Salt Lake City for the first night. It ended up being a great night and relaxing first full day of vacation.

Before heading to Park City, we enjoyed a fantastic breakfast in Salt Lake City that I had found on TripAdvisor. The hotel in Park City let me know our room was ready early so we stocked up on groceries before settling in. This evening we picked up S's skis and ski pass, ate dinner at a nearby sports grill and pub, and enjoyed the kids club.

Highlights from the rest of the week include:

Lots of skiing for J and S - the snow wasn't as good as last year, but J still enjoyed himself and the great views. S made tons of progress and even skied a number of blues PLUS skied with J after ski school each day.

Wandering around Main Street on beautiful sunny days.

Enjoying the kids club as much as last year - C has considerably improved her air hockey skills in the past 12 months, the girls fell in love with Guess Who (which I promptly ordered for our house), and each painted a cupcake bank to complement their turtle banks from last year. We also participated in Cupcake Wars and won the award for most creative as we made a ski girl out of our cupcakes.

So much sister bonding - the girls are close anyways but every vacation I love seeing how close the two of them are and how much they enjoy each other's company. Even with a decent age gap, they love playing together and C definitely missed S while she was off skiing during the day. and for anyone wondering, C is old enough to ski but she was not interested in ski school so we didnt push the issue this year.
