Disney Magic - Iceland and Norway - Travel to London!

For our summer vacation this year, we chose an 11-night Disney Cruise that sailed out of Dover to Scotland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, and into Copenhagen. This is our 5th Disney Cruise (C's 4th), which means we are Gold after this cruise. I spent a lot of time planning our vacation details and am really glad I did. I also was part of the Cruise Facebook group where I got a ton of great info and pre-met friends for the girls.

Now onto the actual trip- this post focuses on getting us to London!

A few years ago, I took a day flight instead of overnight flight to London for work and really liked it, so I knew I wanted to do the same thing this year - Air Canada offers a great flight from Toronto to Heathrow so the main decision was how to get to Toronto. I checked a bunch of options and Cleveland, which is about an hour from my parent's house, was the best price by far (saved us over $3,000 vs. traveling from Cincinnati) so we booked out of Cleveland.

On Thursday, we packed up the car after lunch and headed to our airport hotel. We met my parents there and had dinner and ice cream before saying by for two weeks. I accidentally didnt take photos.

We had a nice night sleep, woke up quite early, and then the only real snafu of the trip- I booked the hotel I did because it was an airport hotel with good reviews and a free shuttle. When we checked in, I confirmed our shuttle time. The next morning when we went to get on the shuttle, it was full and they didnt really care. We didnt have time to wait for this so I called a cab and they arrived in 20 minutes (note, not Uber since we didnt have car seats for our trip). I am still waiting for a refund from the hotel.

Anyway, after that, we got to Cleveland airport, enjoyed some early Cinnabon and Auntie Anne's, and got to our gate. All seemed good but then the flight leaving Cleveland was delayed and we had to sit on the runway in Toronto waiting for a gate - at this point our comfortable layover was becoming very tight. We ran through the Toronto airport, everyone helped us speed through the lines, and we made our flight thankfully.

After all of that, our flight to London was uneventful - the girls liked their sausage and french toast on the flight, while I had the pancakes and J had the omelette. We picked up our bags and met our driver to be on our way to our hotel.

We arrived at our hotel (the Marriott Grosvenor) to find out we had a newly remodeled room which was nice. It was quite late but the girls were hungry so we ordered some room service while J went to the treadmill to keep his running streak alive.

We all slept well that night, ready to explore London the next day!
