We had a hectic first few weeks of January between returning from the US, my business trips to NYC and London, and J's skiing on the weekends- but all has been fun! After one weekend skiing, one of J's coworkers mentioned he would be relatively close to Geneva the following weekend skiing so we decided to take a road trip to Val Thorens for the weekend.
I arrived home from London Saturday morning and we headed out to Val Thorens on Saturday afternoon. It was about a 2.5 hour drive and was pretty uneventful, except for S's first bout of motion sickness. She was a trooper though and went to sleep after we got her cleaned up.
We immediately found and checked into our hotel, the Altapura. We loved it! This hotel was the perfect choice for us - it was ski in/ski out and had a great indoor/outdoor pool with views of the slopes. S & I spent a ton of time playing together while J skied with his friends. We also found a bouncy house play area and spent some time there too.
We enjoyed two yummy dinners too - one was pasta and S was on her best behavior with J's friends, the second was pizzas and S was a bit more silly but still good. I wish we could have stayed longer, but we came back on Monday and worked that afternoon.
I loved this weekend away! It was just what we needed after all of the traveling we have been doing the past few weeks - J caught up with friends and S & I had plenty of quality time.
Follow our family of four through our many travels and other adventures. We love to travel to new countries and also love Disney.
