Marco Island Getaway - Fall 2019

For our Fall 2019 getaway/anniversary trip, we decided to go back to Marco Island, Florida and this year Julie, Mike and Ava joined us! We had planned this trip in the late spring but as the trip approached, S realized she was going to miss a ton of stuff so she decided to skip the trip and spend a weekend in Cincinnati with my mom doing all of her activities - they had a great weekend while we were on our beach getaway.

Marco Island was wonderful again - beautiful beaches, beautiful weather, light crowds, and easy to get to!

I had arrived home Thursday evening from a business trip and we left Friday mid-day for the airport - our flight to RSW was uneventful and our rental car was waiting for us. We were able to check in as soon as we arrived and had lovely views of the Gulf of Mexico.

After a quick stroll on the beach, we met up with Julie, Mike, and Ava for dinner at a pizza place on the beach and then C wanted to collect shells and play in the sand even though it was quite dark out.

Everyone slept well and C woke up ready to get back to the beach and look for shells and build sand castles! J headed for a run while we got set up at the beach for a morning of relaxing all together. While Ava napped, we had lunch at the pool and played - C was tall enough for the water slides this year and loved it! Julie joined us so we had time to catch up while C kept going up and down the slide.

C had so much fun she wore herself out and fell asleep for a few hours before a lovely dinner at Ario - the girls behaved very well at the 'fancy' dinner and we all enjoyed our steaks!

Sunday morning was another run for J and pool time with Julie and family before they headed home. We had lunch again by the pool and ate at another beachfront restaurant this evening. In between I wanted to go for a run but C insisted to come with me so we did a 1 mile jog/walk and had a ton of fun!

Monday morning came quickly (our actual 13th anniversary!)- I headed out for a run while J and C found more seashells - we met up for some pool time, had lunch in the room and headed home - travel was easy again.

We were all happy to see S - C&S have never been apart more than 1 night and couldn't stop chatting to catch up!

What a great weekend for all of us!
