Fall Beach Getaway 2018

We took a quick weekend getaway to Marco Island Florida for some sunshine and family time. J found a great hotel - the JW on Marco Island - and off we went.

We left mid morning on a Friday and flew straight to Fort Meyers and then picked up the rental car for the hour drive south. S missed a field trip but nothing else at school so that was a win too!

The hotel was located directly on the beach plus had multiple pools so we were set.

We were at the pool and beach until dinner time. After quick showers we had pizza at the hotel and then watched the sunset and evening fire show before some yogurt and bed time.

Saturday was a day full of beach and pool. Not many pictures as we were truly loving the time together. We built sandcastles, enjoyed lunch at the pool, and swam longer than I thought the girls would want to. It’s so fun as they grow up to see how much more they can do when we travel.

After showers we headed to the Gastropub/arcade at the hotel. It was a mixed bag- the bowling and some arcade games were fun. The mini golf wasn’t great. The milkshakes were to die for. The girls loved everything about it.

They picked their prizes (slinky and candies) and we went out to watch the sunset before snuggles in the room.

We didn’t have to leave hotel until 11ish Sunday morning so we were the first ones in the pool at 8 am and went between the beach and pool for two hours before getting ready to leave. Travel home was uneventful. What a great trip.

Up next - weekend in Indy for J’s half marathon.
