Highlights of Dubai Atlantis

We stayed at the Atlantis on the Palm in Dubai- it was the absolute perfect choice for us- very kid friendly, lots of restaurants, pools and activities to choose from, and recommended from friends that went the year before.

Some highlights from the hotel included:

Swimming Fun! We went swimming the zero entry pool so S could walk in by herself on the first day, which was nice but not super exciting. The main pool kind of resembled Mickey Mouse and we went there twice - S wore her swimming vest and could swim around the pool all by herself- she was cracking up the whole time! We also enjoyed the water park next door - there was a kids area with slides and some great adult slides too- J even wet down the coolest slide I have ever seen (and for any Amazing Race fans, it is a replica of the slide at the Atlantis Bahamas that the woman refused to go down and ended up losing the Race because of it!).

Amazing Views: Our room had a great balcony with amazing views of Dubai - it was so peaceful to see the city in the morning and the evening from afar.

Kids Club: S spent a few hours at the kids club over the course of our stay and really enjoyed it. She did some crafts, got to go rock climbing, and played other games with the kids.

Delicious Food: We enjoyed one of the main breakfast buffets most mornings and it was delicious- there was a wide spread of choices including a full juice bar, yogurt bar, traditional American food, French Pastry area, and many more things to choose from. S and I both liked the pancakes!

Aquarium: There is a huge aquarium at the hotel that you can see as you walk around and also can get to see more if you go inside. As hotel guests, we had unlimited access to the aquarium - it was great- S asked to go every night after dinner to see the various fish.

Playground: The hotel also had a great playground onsite - there were two outdoor areas and an indoor area- S enjoyed the spinning toy and bouncy fish toys the most.

All in all, this was an amazing family getaway. I love the idea of mid-term winter break and am glad we were able to take advantage of it this year.

We have a lot more travel coming up including M to China (work), family trip to Innsbruck, and family trip to the Swiss Alps. We are still deciding on our Easter plans so stay tuned.
