What an amazing year 2012 has been! Here's a quick run down of our highlights and some funny things in numbers (if you know us well, you know we love numbers!):
Many Firsts:
- First time any of us have lived outside of Ohio
- S's first (and second) visit(s) to an aquarium (January- Newport, Kentucky and September- Lisbon, Portugal)
- S's first visit to the Ocean (September - Caiscas, Portugal)
- J's first time skiing in the Rockies (January) and the Alps (December)
- M's first visit to China
- M's dad's first time in Europe - it only took me moving here to get him to come :)
- S's first time participating in a wedding as my brother's flower girl (pictures coming later!)
Other Key Numbers:
2: We entered the not-so-terrible two's when S turned 2 in May
4: Zoos S visited this year (Cincinnati with my parents; Amsterdam and Lisbon with us; Columbus with us and J's parents)
3: Number of times we visited Chamonix - definitely a favorite place so far
6: Visitors from the US: My parents, my aunt, our college friend Bob who was in on business, my best friend Julie and her boyfriend Mike
6: Years married- We celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary in October
6: Countries we have been in together this year - US, Switzerland, France, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal
6: Cars we drove for a significant time period this year - our 2 cars in the US, our 2 rentals for about a month in the US before we moved, our 1 rental in Geneva for about 2 months before we bought our car here, our 1 car that we bought here
6: Months we have lived in Switzerland
11: Years J and I have known each other as of January 2012
17: Number of countries M has visited (For those interested, they are: US, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Ireland, UK, Switzerland, France, Italy, Germany, Netherlands, Portugal, Russia, Japan, China, Singapore, Australia)
We feel very blessed with what a great year 2012 was and hope 2013 is even better!
