Additional Highlights from Parents Trip

Beyond our weekend fun, my parents and aunt also had time during the week to enjoy Geneva while J and I worked. I have captured some of the things that they did during the day/we did at night to keep ideas top of mind when others come visit.

Tour of Geneva: My parents and aunt took a bus, boat, and trolley tour of Geneva - it lasted about 3-4 hours and gave them a chance to learn a lot about Geneva and see places they wanted to go back to.

Natural History Museum: This museum is just a few bus stops away and is free - there are lots of interactive exhibits. They took S with them to this museum and they all enjoyed it. R and S will be going there some times during the winter too.

Botanic Gardens: The gardens are quite far on the bus, but my parents really enjoyed them once they managed to get there. They wandered around the various exhibits and also had lunch at the restaurant.

Old Town: My mom and aunt went to Old Town one afternoon and walked the streets, looked at the shops, and enjoyed a snack.

Fondue Dinner: We had R stay late one evening so that we could have an adult evening out for authentic fondue. We all really enjoyed it - we had cheese and meat fondue.

Italian Dinner: We took S out with us to Luigia's, a local Italian restaurant that is quite kid friendly. They even gave S a toy to take home.

Chocolate Factory & Gruyere Castle: I took one vacation day to spend extra time with my parents. We decided to head to the chocolate factory in Broc and the castle in Gruyere. This was a fantastic day - my dad drove us to Broc and the views were gorgeous - you could see the snow line from the car and there was clearly more snow on the mountains than a few months ago. The factory was great and the tasting room was yummy. We all bought a few favorite things (me to have at home, them to take as souvenirs). We headed to Gruyere town afterwards and it was great! The town was adorable, the castle was fantastic, and S really enjoyed exploring. I can't wait to go back to both of these places with J.
