Dubai Highlights: Desert Safari Tour

There are many things to share about our recent trip to Dubai so I am splitting the blog posts up into a few different ones. This one will focus on the Desert Safari Tour. As we planned our trip to Dubai, we saw many different options for tours in the desert from the dune bashing 'adventure tours' to the more cultural options. We ended up choosing a breakfast event with desert safari and it was perfect.

Because S is only 3, we had a private car the entire time. Our driver picked us up at the hotel at 7:15am and off we went. Eric was great- he told us many stories about Dubai as we left the city and then more about the culture and what to expect as we approached the desert.

The first part of the tour was an interactive experience with a boudoin, who answered questions about traditional past life in Dubai. We had a few tweens in our group that asked many questions but S was able to chime in and ask him how his camels slept, which everyone thought was cute.

We then enjoyed an authentic breakfast of egg bread, oregano bread, chickpeas, noodles with egg, and pancakes with date syrup. I really enjoyed this as it was relaxing to sit in the desert and enjoy the food.

S had been asking to ride a camel ever since our old nanny R did it on vacation and she finally got to. Eric knew how excited S was about the camel so he asked for an extra long ride. She was very pleased.

After that, it was time for our personalized safari. The group split back up and we left first. We explored two different areas - at the first, we saw a few animals. At the second, we climbed sand dunes which S absolutely loved and asked to keep doing, did some very light dune bashing, and saw more animals. It was a great experience.
