Chamonix: M's birthday celebration and S's first skiing adventure!

We spent the past weekend in Chamonix for a long weekend to celebrate my birthday. This is the first time that S & I have stayed in Chamonix. J stayed last winter for a days of consecutive skiing with my brother.

S doesn't go back to school from holiday break until tomorrow so it was the perfect opportunity to spend a long weekend together.

We arrived in Chamonix late Thursday evening, checked into the hotel, and went for a short walk.

Friday was the most fun day! S& I had a private skiing lesson, which was a ton of fun! The rental company had the perfect pink skis and helmet for S, which started the day right. Our teacher, Jan, was great and S had tons of fun with him.

After our lesson, we met back up with J for family lunch. J skied for the afternoon while S & I played at the hotel pool before a nice dinner out.

On Saturday, I unfortunately caught the stomach bug that S had had the previous week so I needed to rest for a few hours. S & J went out to lunch and walked around town while I rested. Once I felt better, we all went swimming at the hotel pool, did a bit of shopping, and went to a park with a really cool luge ride. 

Sunday morning was breakfast and then packing up to come home.

All in all a great birthday celebration. S and I are both looking forward to skiing again.
