Disney Cruise Highlights

This will be the first of a few posts about our Disney Cruise. I am starting with the highlights and will post some more detailed information in the coming week as I have time. Overall, we really enjoyed the cruise - the characters were great, the excursions were nice, and S really enjoyed everything about the boat!

Our Room: we opted for a room with a balcony and are so glad we did - we were able to enjoy fresh air in the morning, evenings, and after our half-day excursions. J caught S & me coloring one afternoon before we realized he was back from the gym. S also loved the bed especially for her and I was pleasantly surprised with the storage space.

The Characters: For S, meeting the characters throughout the day, before dinner, and after dinner was definitely a big highlight. I will dedicate a full post to this later as it was a big part of our time on the boat. You will notice that S has new Chip & Dale dolls that match the characters she is visiting. She definitely has a new love of Chip & Dale now. We also got to meet Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, Stitch, Captain Hook, Cinderella, Belle, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, and Tiana.

The Excursions: We took four excursions - we did a half day tour of Monaco, a half day in Lerici, Italy, a full day in Rome, and a half day in Pompeii. My favorite was the half day in Lerici - it was a gorgeous small town with fun activities for all of us. More to come on these too!
Activities on the Boat: One thing I was worried about beforehand was what we would do on the boat during our down time. I quickly learned this wasn't an issue. The weather is still cool so we only went swimming twice.

We also spent some time at the Kids Club - during Open House, we could go with her and did the Snow White activity and some egg experiments together (our budding scientist loved it). S also went by herself for Pluto's Pajama Party and Story Time with Belle. She really enjoyed it!

J and I also went to the gym many days - the gym was nicer than I expected with good treadmills and ellipticals and a variety of weights.

After dinner, we went to the live shows three evenings. They were all quite good and S was really entertained. My favorite was the Twice Charmed show.
Lastly, we just enjoyed the boat - from taking walks on the upper deck to enjoying afternoon ice cream, we had a great time together.

This truly was a fantastic vacation! I am so glad we decided to do the Disney Cruise.
