Zurich Family Fun Weekend

J and I celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary a few weeks ago- we had planned to take a family trip to Zurich that weekend and had the hotel booked, but the weather wasn't cooperating so we changed the trip to this weekend.

On Friday, J and I were sure to be done with work on time, had a quick family dinner, and left for Zurich. We drove through the dark so couldn't see the beautiful countryside, but it was an easy drive overall and S was really good in the car.

We stayed at the Marriott and had booked a regular room with a view - when we arrived, they surprised us with an upgrade to an executive suite with two walls of windows so we had great views of the city, lake, and mountains.
On Friday evening, we just settled into the hotel and enjoyed a relaxing night at the hotel. On Saturday, we had a fantastic day - it was about 50 degrees Fahrenheit and party cloudy. We wandered the city with inspiration from a few walking tours that I had found on line. We went into one of the main churches and were treated to live orchestra music.

We also did some shopping, including a visit to the Franz Carl Weber toy store. We love this store in Geneva and the Zurich one is great too. There are three levels - the main floor and bottom floor are connected by a dinosaur slide that was a big hit with S - she did it many times!

After shopping, we found a yummy place for lunch along the river. We ate inside but had a window view, which was nice. Afterwards, we headed to the hotel for some down time for S, went for a walk in the park across from the hotel, and had dinner at the hotel lounge - another relaxing night!

On Sunday, we had a yummy breakfast at the hotel and then headed to Trampolino! I found it on another expat blog that I follow as a great indoor activity for kids in Zurich and it did not disappoint. We all enjoyed ourselves - there were trampolines to bounce on, bouncy houses, slides, climbing areas, and much more. S tried pretty much everything and was able to climb all the way to the top of both climbing areas! We had some lunch at Trampolino, played a bit more, and then decided it was time to head back home.
S made it to the top of this strange pyramid apparatus and is crawling through the tunnel in this picture.
The fall foliage along the drive was amazing too!
