Visiting Santa

This past Sunday, we ventured into the mountains for a special visit to Santa's house. I found out about this through one of the other Geneva expat blogs that I read and knew I wanted to do this with S.

The visit to Santa's house is part of the overall Montreux Noel festivities and included a visit to Santa with views over the mountains, face painting, and visiting Santa's bunnies.

We started the day in foggy Geneva and took the first train to Montreux. About halfway there, the fog lifted and the sunny view of the Alps was amazing and a sign of things to come. We changed to the cog train into the mountains in Montreux and were off. The views were amazing and part of the experience overall.

Once we arrived, we went straight to visit Santa. S was a bit hesitant so I visited Santa with her. She asked for a supermarket with food and a shopping cart. We then got her face painted and visited Santa's office where we received chocolate and apples as special snacks.

We visited the bunnies and went back for a short play time in the snow.

All too quickly it was time to take the cog train back down to Montreux - the sunset was gorgeous.

Since it was Sunday, many restaurants were closed but one of our favorite burger places was open so we enjoyed family burgers and fries for dinner and ended our special day out.
