Barcelona Highlights (pre-cruise)

We decided to spend a day in Barcelona before leaving on our cruise. We had an early morning flight with great service from Swiss Air including new toys for S. I had booked disney transfers and hotel, which was a perfect start to the experience of Disney service. Disney met us at baggage claim, helped with the bags, and took us immediately to our private car and then the hotel. The smell of the ocean immediately relaxed me, too bad it was too chilly to enjoy the beach! We stayed at the renaissance, which was very nice. Even with our early arrival, they had a room ready for us. There was a great gym that J and I both used too.

Highlights from our day exploring included:

Hop on Hop off tour: with just one day to explore, we decided this would be the best way to get a feel for the city. We took both the blue and red routes.

Guell Park: great views, awesome architecture, and a fun cafe for a snack

The architecture: breathtaking and different from other places I have been to.

Tapas: we enjoyed yummy tapas for a late lunch. We all picked a few small plates and shared. S even liked trying the various dishes.

Beautiful parks: there were amazing parks all over the city. I wish we had more time to enjoy them.

On Saturday, we had breakfast at the hotel and then did some shopping before leaving for the cruise. This time, we were on a van full of other cruisers and had a cute disney video to watch.

All in all, we enjoyed Barcelona. We definitely didn't have enough time to explore the whole city, but the initial overview was great.
