J & M spent the last week in Geneva for house hunting among other things (that will be covered in a separate post). For background, the Geneva rental market is known to be quite tight and it can be difficult to secure a good apartment. We had already narrowed down the areas we wanted to look at, so our relo agent focused there.
We saw 16 properties over 2 days, which was both interesting and exhausting. There were a few places that we could cut right away for various reasons. In the end, there were two places that we liked enough to submit applications for. Both were in the same area - very close to a large park and public transportation for M to take to work. We ended up being accepted for both and were able to take our top choice!
The apartment is great - it has three bedrooms, a brand new kitchen, a HUGE living space, and nice storage areas. We are also very pleased with the location - the grocery store is right next door, the Park is across the street, and there is a fantastic bakery and Italian restaurant within a block. It will take M about 30 minutes to get to work on public transportation- definitely an adjustment for someone who has always driven to work, but I am sure I will come to love it.
Follow our family of four through our many travels and other adventures. We love to travel to new countries and also love Disney.
