Our fourth and last port was Naples and we decided for a half day tour of Pompeii. I also visited Pompeii on my previously mentioned trip to Europe in high school and remember loving it! I was really excited to go back with S and J and it didn't disappoint.
I'm still amazed at how developed the city was in 79AD. The preservation is amazing too. You can see the fast food stands, the upper class houses and how they were different from others, the main square, and the theater area.
Our tour guide was fantastic. He made sure the tour moved along but hit many highlights. S made friends with two other girls on the tour (also American expats!) and they played and talked through the ruins.
After this excursion, we had a late lunch on the cruise ship and enjoyed a leisurely afternoon on the boat.
The views made me really excited for our upcoming trip to the Amalfi Coast (just south of Naples) in August.
Follow our family of four through our many travels and other adventures. We love to travel to new countries and also love Disney.
